HUD Approves a $1.5 Billion Disaster Recovery Plan for Puerto Rico

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development recently approved a $1.5 Billion disaster recovery plan for Puerto Rico to help re-establish the county after devastating damage as a result of Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria.

HUDs Secretary, Ben Carson, made the announcement Monday, July 30, 2018.

The funds include $1 Billion for Housing, $145 Million for Economic Revitalization and $100 Million for Infrastructure.

The funds were allocated on February 1, 2018, the action plan was approved, Monday, July 30, 2018 to put the funds to work to begin the revitalization.
