SPRINGFIELD, MO – Anthony Carlton Dunlap, 42, was sentenced to 18 years for six bank robberies and illegally possessing a firearm.
U.S. District Judge Roseann Ketchmark issued the sentence in federal court without parole. Dunlap was sentenced as a career criminal as a result of his previous convictions.
Robbing more than $3910 with a loaded Hi Point .40 caliber pistol, Dunlap told police after he was arrested that he stole the money to purchase heroin.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney James J. Kelleher, investigated by the Springfield Police Department, and the FBI.
